Artisan Interiors Academy.

Life is too short to live in soul-sucking beige. It’s time to create interiors you love, that love you back!

Does this sound like you?

You want your interiors to reflect, support, inspire and ignite you so you can feel like your best self everyday

You want to do the right thing environmentally but aren’t sure of exactly what’s involved

You’re sick of interiors influencers or magazines telling you what they think you should do or buy

You know your environment is impacting you negatively, and want to leverage the power of beautiful design to ripple positively through all areas of your life

Maybe you feel intimidated by the calibre or period of your property, can’t visualise how to achieve what you want, or fear ‘getting it wrong’

You love all kinds of art and culture, but don’t feel confident in your own creativity when it comes to interior design

Your budget won’t stretch to an interior designer doing it all for you (besides, you WANT to do it yourself anyway)

You worry that sustainable design means compromising on style, elegance or luxury

You keep delaying starting or finishing a transformation because it seems like a mountain to climb, you’re stuck in indecision or can’t agree with your partner

Without being given real design treatment, too many interiors end up being bland ‘it’ll-do-for-now’ spaces (sometimes for years) that can bore, bring your mood down, frustrate and annoy, massively impacting your wellbeing.

  • Interiors like that distract you while working from home and make you less productive.

  • Business premises that aren’t attracting dream clients harms your financial health.

  • The spare room full of stuff prevents you from hosting friends and family.

  • The bedroom you don’t love deters you from getting an early night to support good rest.

  • The living room you hate can stop you spending quality time with your partner.

  • The kitchen you can’t stand has you ordering in takeaways instead of cooking from scratch.

Interior design is about SO much more than what it looks like. Just like a flower in the wrong environment will wilt, so do you!

Have you ever been somewhere that has made you say WOW out loud and uplifted your very soul?!

Putting some of that energy and style into your interiors for your everyday is absolutely possible for you.

I’m Zoe, the artisan interior designer, seen on BBC makeover show ‘My Unique B&B’ and founder of award-winning studio Stylemongers Of Bristol.

At the start of my interior design career all I wanted to do was make beautiful bold spaces, just like every other designer until…

I spent years living miserably in a house of horrors (think dilapidated, dangerous, dingy, dirty, ugly and cluttered) that I felt ashamed and annoyed about and powerless to change, despite knowing exactly what to do.

For the first time I really understood how living in a sub-optimal interior affects literally every area of life. That experience also showed me just how powerful and valuable interior design really is for influencing and supporting wellbeing.

Eventually I got out and now live joyfully in a practical, user-friendly flat that I’ve made pretty and it’s perfect for me. It’s full of art, and sets me up for the day, every day.

There are lots of elements I made by hand, which means I get to enjoy them (and the mental health benefits of crafting) twice, well thrice, in the designing, the doing and the using.

I want that same transformation for you too!

Since I switched from scenic to interior design I’ve also learned about the toxins in our furnishings that are harming our health and polluting our planet. I can’t un-know this, so sustainability in design is now firmly, non-negotiably on my agenda.

Fast interior fashion is OUT. Slow interior style is IN. But, forever.

That’s why inside Artisan Interiors Academy l show you HOW to use your creativity to go from bland to breathtaking interiors!

Want more detail?

Course modules will be released fortnightly on Mondays, so you have plenty of time to work through at your own pace in a logical order.

Module One - Client

Being your own client is all about surveying your home and engaging deeply with what you need and want to create a really clear Design Brief. This will walk you through the process and allow you to seek and include input from other householders.

Module Two - Layout

Think of this as spatial planning made easy. You’ll learn how to draw scale floorplans, layouts and even custom furniture if you want to, without the need for computer skills. Whether you’re planning a kitchen, a bedroom or both, the same technique applies. You’ll be able to start visualising your space, experiment with different layouts (without lifting and shifting any furniture) and plan your lighting nice and early.

Module Three - Inspiration

We’ll find inspiration from fresh, original sources so that your schemes are aligned with your design dreams. So that you’re not simply collecting inspiration, I’ll show how to use that inspiration to your advantage in developing your vision, so that you can move your project forward. This is also the part where you get to start incorporating your own unique special sauce!

Module Four - Colour

This section will teach you the 8 different colour formulas you can follow so that you can feel confident in putting different tones together. But, rules are for breaking so I’m also going to show you how you can rebel and still pull off a successful scheme! You’ll also get to visualise your home decorated in another colourway, and start flexing that all-important imagination muscle.

Module Five - Keystone

Defining and then communicating intangible ideas is without doubt the keystone of any designer’s skillset. This is where things get exciting as you'll start mood-boarding and drawing* your way to a clear design scheme. You can use your design schemes made in this module to persuade your partner and communicate effectively with tradespeople to get what you want.

*(Yes, I said drawing - don’t worry, it’s optional, and masterpieces not required anyway!)

Module Six - Style

There is no such thing as an original idea. The history of style in interiors is long and interesting. I’ll walk you through an abridged version so you can understand different periods in architecture and how they relate to your property and interiors. You’ll understand the difference between fashion / trends and style, and the visual language of interior design - then you can play with it!

Module Seven - Sustainability & Sourcing

These two topics are inextricably linked. You’ll look at how you can make your home air cleaner and safer, how you can make more sustainable interior design choices from reducing energy consumption to specifying products made from planet-friendly materials. You’ll also consider where you’d look to source everything your project will need, and best of all you’ll have access to the spreadsheet template I use to track all my suppliers, sources and pricing on every project, so you’ll be able to set and stick to your budget.

Module Eight - Styling

The icing on the cake, styling is the fun part when the dust and chaos is over and you get to nest in and enjoy placing the details . Here you’ll learn some styling techniques so you can bring your finished space to life!
